In Memorium: RJ Nebe

R.J. Nebe, a well known figure in the Nebraska wrestling community, died on March 18, 2007 from complications of leukemia at the age of 41.  A long time coach with Omaha Skutt High School's wrestling program, R.J. helped lead the Skyhawks to 8 consecutive Class B Championships until his retirement from coaching in 2005.  RJ was also the popular color commentator on Nebraska State High School and UNO Maverick Wrestling broadcasts.  R.J. began his scholastic wrestling career at Millard North and was a two-time state placer for the Mustangs in 1982/83.  He went on to become a 5 time Division II All-American at UNO from 1985-88 and finished second on the Maverick's all-time win list with 153.  He was also a Division I All American at 177 lbs in 1988.  In 1999 R.J. Nebe was inducted into the NCAA Division II Wrestling Hall of Fame.  Please join us in remembering a great wrestler, coach, broadcaster, friend and family man.
